About us
The Campaign for David McBride is made up of ordinary Australians who want justice and freedom for David McBride.
Major David McBride tried to fix his workplace. As a Legal Officer, a lawyer for the Australian Defence Force, he raised concerns about illegal conduct within the ADF. When the official complaints procedures and a visit to the Australian Federal Police went no-where, David eventually went to reputable journalists. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation published the Afghan Files based on documents provided by David.
Rather than fix the issues in the ADF which David raised, the Government prosecuted David. The Government denied David his evidence by claiming "National Security". David is now serving a hefty sentence in gaol.
David and his team are appealing his conviction and sentence, taking his case to the High Court of Australia.
